About
Hi, I’m Elizabeth Cortez, a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW). I work with women and teens who feel anxious, stressed, or stuck in patterns that make sleep, focus, or daily life harder than it needs to be. People often come to therapy knowing what they want to change but struggle to actually make it happen in daily life. My goal is to help you notice patterns that get in the way, build practical strategies, and leave sessions feeling more confident and steady— even when progress moves through peaks and valleys.
I practice therapy because I enjoy helping people gain new insights, uncover their strengths, and try new approaches to transformation that actually work. Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored to each person. Sessions are engaging and validating so that you feel seen and heard, not just treated. I use evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and EMDR. I also support exploring complementary approaches that honor your cultural and spiritual needs.
When working with teens, I meet them where they’re at with patience and curiosity. I know life regularly throws new challenges their way, both at school and in the world, so therapy moves at a realistic pace. I may bring in creative tools— games, pop culture, or interactive digital platforms— to make sessions more engaging and support healthy expression, problem-solving, and skill development.
Why Pixel Pathways Therapy?
This name reflects both the virtual nature of my practice and how I use technology thoughtfully in therapy. Because digital tools are a normal part of daily life, we can use them to make sessions more interactive and accessible— whether through games, videos, or other online resources— so therapy can fit more easily into your life.
“Pathways” represents noticing patterns, exploring solutions, and building confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
I offer virtual therapy for convenience and accessibility, but it may not be the right fit for everyone. A free 15-minute consultation is a great way to see if online sessions work for your needs.
